The Assault class focuses on assault rifles and healing teammates. Battlefield 3’s multiplayer matches see players take on one of four roles: Assault, Support, Engineer and Recon. Battlefield 3 introduces the “ Battlelog“ a free cross-platform social service with built-in text messaging, voice communications, game statistics, and the ability to join games that friends are already playing (though both players need to be on the same platform). The maps cover urban streets, metropolitan downtown areas, and open landscapes suited to vehicle combat. The game features maps set in Paris, Tehran (as well as other locations in Iran), Sulaymaniyah in Iraq, New York City, Wake Island, Oman, Kuwait City, and other parts of the Persian Gulf.
To accommodate the lower player count on consoles, the ground area is limited for Xbox 360 and PS3, though fly space remains the same. It reintroduces several elements absent from the Bad Company games, including fighter jets, the prone position and 64-player battles on PC. Plus, every second of battle gets you closer to unlocking tons of extras and moving up in the Ranks. Explore 29 massive multiplayer maps and use loads of vehicles, weapons, and gadgets to help you turn up the heat. Heck, not too long ago Expansions for Battlefield 4 and Hardline were made free, so I don't see why Battlefield 3 can't join them, considering how old the game is.Ramp up the intensity in Battlefield™ 3 and enjoy total freedom to fight the way you want. Since Battlefield 3 is over 5 years old and with Battlefield 3 recently being backward compatible, I think now would be a good time for EA and DICE to let Premium be free for all players to download and install, so both old and new players can experience the fun modes and maps that were featured in the DLC Expansions. (This also makes it especially hard or impossible to unlock certain achievements and weapons such as the XBOW) I don't know about anyone else, but I hate not being able to play modes like Scavenger or Capture The Flag on the DLC maps, because of a lack of players who don't have Premium and therefore aren't able to play. Whilst this has boosted the population up by quite a bit, I'm still seeing nothing but empty servers for the DLC modes and maps. As we all should know by now, Battlefield 3 (along with Bad Company 2) is now backward compatible on Xbox One.
